The Cook Aide assists the Cook in the preparation, cooking, and service of meals for nursing home residents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Cook with food preparation, including washing, cutting, measuring, and assembling ingredients

Help prepare meals according to menus, recipes, and therapeutic diet orders

Assist with cooking tasks as directed, such as portioning, plating, and temperature checks

Set up meal trays and assist with meal service

Ensure food is prepared and served following proper sanitation and food safety guidelines

Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work areas, and utensils

Wash dishes and assist with trash removal

Store food properly and rotate inventory following FIFO procedures

Assist with receiving and putting away food and supply deliveries

Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor

Work cooperatively with dietary staff to ensure timely meal service

High school diploma or GED preferred

Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred (healthcare setting a plus)
