What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Teller position at Priority First Federal Credit Union?
JOB SUMMARY -A frontline employee providing consistent exceptional service for our members. Responsible for assisting members with their financial needs; including routine banking transactions and generating referrals for additional services.
QUALIFICATIONS - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with consistent accuracy. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1. Greet members with a smile.
2. Performs routine banking transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, check verification, coin and currency counting, loan payments, etc. from all delivery channels in compliance with Priority First FCU’s policies and procedures.
3. Prepares, verifies, and issues cashiers’ checks, bank and personal money orders.
4. Evaluates checks to verify endorsements, dates, identification of persons receiving payments, bank names, and overall legality of the documents.
5. Opening sub accounts and share certificate deposits for members.
6. Performs account maintenance, including change of name, change of records, account closings, card reissuance, etc.
7. Maintains an up to date and comprehensive knowledge of all Priority First products and services. Explain, promote, and refer relevant products to meet the financial needs of each member.
8. Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of all related policies, procedures, rules, and regulations and keeps abreast of any changes.
9. Communicates in person, over the phone, and through email in a clear, diplomatic, and professional manner.
10. Balances and performs end of day closing activities in accordance to Priority First FCU’s policies and procedures.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and security procedures. Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully communicate with members or coworkers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY - Ability to apply common sense to perform assigned duties and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS - Displays an eagerness & ability to learn, efficiently use the technology provided, and is receptive to new ideas.
