The Safety & Compliance Director for Priority Courier Experts heads our efforts to provide an industry-leading, compliant and safe fleet. This key person uses their experience in both federal and state regulatory compliance for motor carries and drivers to keep operations running smoothly while minimizing risk. This position has significant responsibility for managing the company’s liabilities relating to the Fleet and therefore fulfills a key role.

- DOT/FMCSA/MNDOT/TSA Compliance & Certifications
- Accidents & Damage Investigations and Insurance Claims
- CSA Score management & improvements
- ELD Management & Compliance
- Safe Driving & Accident Prevention training via partners
- Licensing, Permitting, Prorate
- Insurance strategy and implementations
- OSHA Compliance
- Company Policy Development
- Drug & Alcohol testing
- Driving Qualifications
- MVR Reports & Issues
- Driver Self Certification
- Hazmat Compliance, Certification and Endorsement
- Cross Company Leadership
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- 5 Years of Transportation Safety, Compliance, Fleet Management or related experience
- Good working knowledge of Federal and State regulations for Motor Carriers and Drivers
- Experience with Hours of Service and ELD compliance
- Strong understanding of DOT driver qualification requirements
- Experience investigating commercial motor vehicle accidents and managing insurance claims
- Excellent process development, management and prioritization skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
- Must be well organized with professional written and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and
- Highly developed leadership, analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Transportation, Logistics, Business or related field
- Certified Director of Safety (CDS), CSP, ASP or equivalent certification
- Experience with FMCSA audits and compliance reviews
- Hazmat/DOT hazardous material compliance experience
- Experience with Motive, Samsara, Geotab, Linxup or similar fleet management platforms
- IFTA and/or IRP compliance experience
- Experience working with Independent Contractors or Owner-Operators
