Job Brief :
An IT Engineer maintains a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network. They deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation and explore and solve problems logically and consistently. They troubleshoot a wide variety of systems and environments while applying an understanding of industry best practices. The IT Engineer will often serve in a project and technical lead capacity on projects and must think strategically at times and be task oriented at others.
Responsibilities:
Monitoring & Reporting:
- 24x7 Monitoring and responding to various types of critical system alerts to ensure uptime of all systems. These types of alerts would include: data center temperature anomalies, system and network infrastructure failures, and notices of priority one ticket statues.
- Daily monitoring for alerts on backup events, critical system resource utilization notices, anti- virus threat detections, IPS threat detections, physical site security breaches, security lockout events, hosted-provider service interruptions, and other scheduled reports.
Systems & Network Administration:
- Administrating and troubleshooting on-site and remote networking equipment, systems, and user end-point devices.
- Administrating and troubleshooting a wide variety of cloud and on-premise applications and platforms.
- Administrating and troubleshooting system patching & software provisioning, remote monitoring & management, asset management, and other similar operational IT efforts.
- Documenting system and network configurations, change controls, and procedures.
- Troubleshooting network issues
- Assisting with the design of network models
Business Development & Solutions Engineering:
- Work with management to develop business solutions through IT. Serve in a product management, project management and technical lead capacity on these projects.
- Engineer strategies, adapt best practices, and lead continuing development projects to enhance and refine existing IT infrastructure and operations.
- Understanding PrintMail's proprietary applications and business models.
- Provide input into IT Budgetary process
Security:
- Review and develop security policies, procedures, and guidelines. Ensure they’re in-line with SOC II and best practice standards.
- Assist the Director of Information Systems and Security with SOC audit processes.
- Perform administration and troubleshooting of all technical and administrative issues McAfee EPO, DLP, and AV solutions.
- Develop and administrate annual company security trainings
- Identifying threats and assist with composing risk assessments.
- Evaluating proposed IT solutions for risks and proposing remediation’s.
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in systems and network administration in hybrid cloud/on-premise infrastructure environments.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry certifications required (A , Network , Etc.) Comp TIA Security or equivalent certification preferred.
- Must be able to be on-call 24/7.
- Must be able to multi-task and have a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate complex topics to the layman in understandable terms.
- Competence in windows server and desktop operating systems, and Windows Active Directory environments.
- Competence in MS/MYSQL, PowerShell, or other automation programming languages is preferred.
- Competence with VMWare hyper-visor products and SonicWall firewalls preferred.
- Familiarity with ConnectWise Automate preferred
