Job Summary:
To supervise print shop employees, processes and projects
Key Responsibilities:

Hire, assess, and oversee the performance of assigned staff members

Plan, schedule, organize, and supervise work to meet established schedules and deadlines

Order equipment and supplies to support print operations
-
Prepare, monitor, and maintain a fiscally responsible budget

Promote the use of the print shop as a support service to the district

Contract for outside services as required

Supervise, evaluate, and discipline print shop staff

Ensure compliance with all district policies and procedures
-
Maintain accurate inventories of printing supplies

Collaborate with department and school leaders, supervisors, and staff to align processes and procedures, while actively seeking their input; leads or participates in joint committees and working groups

Focus on continuous improvement by analyzing data, assessing systems and timelines, and recommending adjustments to enhance procedures and strategies; provides root cause analysis and suggestions to the administration

Identify opportunities to optimize the use of various information systems, and liaise with system representatives to stay informed on updates and explore potential improvements

Work with administration and staff to identify ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness in assigned areas and related departmental functions

Develop and execute both short- and long-term goals for assigned responsibilities

Stay informed on federal and state laws and best practices relevant to the assigned area through ongoing research

Manage special projects and perform additional tasks related to areas of responsibility as assigned by administration

Assist with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Experience supervising employees in a production type environment
- Experience in finances to include preparing and monitoring budgets and inventory control

- Excellent math and computer skills
- Knowledge of printing operating methods
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Work is conducted in a print shop within a school district facility, often in a controlled, well-lit, and ventilated environment
- Regular interaction with printing presses, copiers, cutting machines, binding equipment, and other related machinery
- Work often involves tight schedules and high-volume printing jobs that must be completed efficiently
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking within the print shop to operate and monitor equipment
- May require lifting heavy paper stacks, boxes of supplies, or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
