The Manufacturing Engineer will participate in process development for new products, tooling, gaging, secondary operations, etc. Participate, coordinate, and implement improvements/corrective actions to address quality concerns or process improvements. Responsible for final, correct manufacturing process
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Confer with engineers, designers, project/program manager and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, provide technical information, and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
- Work on quality support, addressing scrap (both internal and external), failure modes/ poke yoke, and inspection fixtures / gages.
- Work on production support problems and issues including maintenance engineering support.
- Work on production support, for increased throughput, addressing operator issues, and enhanced quality.
- Participate in development of all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods.
- Participate and coordinate new process development, tooling, shop floor documentation, (SOP) Standard Operating Procedures and (WI) work instructions.
- Coordinate with tool room on tooling maintenance process improvements, including standard maintenance procedures, critical component inventory using PLEX system. Assist in technical training of Toolroom, press room, and equipment operation.
- Provide engineering assistance to projects champions as required for programs assigned to as engineering support.
- Provide misc. CAD support, information to tool room, sales, maintenance, production, etc. as required.
- Support quotes feasibility meetings as required.
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
- Work with customers and vendors in improving processes.
Required
- Four-year Bachelor's degree as a Manufacturing Engineer or Mechanical Engineer
- 5 years manufacturing and/or engineering experience.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and measurement tools.
- Demonstrable ability to apply advanced mathematics.
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and 5S.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Working knowledge of Solidworks
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- Ability to encourage positive work environment.
- Must be able to multi-task under high pressure environment.
- Based on need, may be asked to perform other duties as required by PMC.
- Self motivated; ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to work within confined spaces.
Salary : $44 - $48
