The Buyer provides the necessary support to all functional areas of the company for MRP, Manufacturing aids, Chemicals, and MRO purchases.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
Principal Manufacturing is seeking an Buyer to join our team in Broadview, IL. As a leader in fineblanking, conventional stamping and plastic injection molding, Principal Manufacturing sets itself above the competition.
The Buyer provides the necessary support to all functional areas of the company for MRP, Manufacturing aids, Chemicals, and MRO purchases.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Generate and administer purchase orders
- Obtain necessary authorizations and approvals as per the procedures, in order to be able to make purchases.
- Monitor inventory and replenish to maximize inventory turns
- Manage suppliers and initiate continuous improvement activity.
- Maintain good relations with internal clients by providing them with good service
- Assess supplier performance on quality, delivery and competitiveness.
- Evaluate supplier capability and monitor market conditions
- Maintain the cost-quality relation, pursuing the maximum savings for the company.
- Generate continuous improvement projects for processes related to purchases.
- Work with accounting on any A/P invoice discrepancies.
- Work with receiving to resolve any issues.
- Work with client relations on delivery concerns.
- Ability to read and understand procedures, blueprints, specifications and standards
- Capable of planning delivery of goods and services
- Ability to communicate with internal and external customers on product capabilities and schedule commitments.
- Demonstrate problem solving skills.
- Experience in manufacturing and working including raw material, plating, heat treating,
- Inventory knowledge.
- Generate monitoring reports on expenses based on commodities and process.
- Provide value added to improve company performance.
- Associate degree and knowledge of TS-16949- or 3-year experience in purchasing and manufacturing metalwork environment.
