What You'll Do
Principal's Global Equity team is searching for an experienced Equity Analyst to join our research team with a dedicated focus on the Healthcare sector, specifically non-pharmaceutical companies including healthcare services, medical equipment, devices, diagnostics, and tools. This candidate will work with a diverse team of portfolio managers and analysts supporting research and recommendations!
In this role, you’ll be able to:
- Conduct in-depth fundamental research and financial analysis globally on companies within the non-pharma healthcare space (e.g., health care services, medical devices, diagnostics, surgical tools, lab equipment).
- Partner closely with sector leads, analysts, and portfolio managers to provide outperformance through stock selection, while working within the framework of our process and portfolio constraints
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to forecast company performance, incorporating macroeconomic and industry-specific factors
- Generate timely and actionable investment ideas and communicate insights through written reports, models, presentations, and investment committee discussions
- Maintain research coverage of existing investments within the assigned sector coverage for multiple portfolios
- Interact with company management, industry experts, and other stakeholders to gather qualitative and quantitative insights

Who You Are
- 2 years equity investment experience. We are willing to hire the next level up which would require 5 years of equity investment experience
- Equity experience in the Healthcare sector
- A proven track record of consistently adding value through investment recommendations based on proprietary analysis
- Strong analytical, fundamental company analysis, and financial modeling skills
Skills That Will Help You Stand Out
- MBA or Master of Science with finance emphasis and Chartered Financial Analyst designation (or progress towards CFA)
- Must be a self-starter and demonstrate understanding of economies and investment theories
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$137000 - $236000 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

We’re open to considering in-office or hybrid talent. Locations include Des Moines, New York City, Chicago, Seattle, or Denver. You’ll work with your leader to determine the arrangement that best fits based on role needs, team collaboration, and your location.
Next Level Up
Two position levels are available. One requires 2-5 years of experience and the more senior is at least five years. Both levels are reflected together in the compensation section. The junior level base compensation range is $137,000 - $185,000. The more senior is $174,000 - $236,000. When noting compensation on your application, this salary range and what we ask for would be base pay expectations.
