The Principal Financial Group is seeking a multifaceted leader to craft and implement training, mentor and practice management strategies that elevate our Workplace Personal Investing (WPI) business. This role will drive a culture of excellence, ensuring our sales and advisory teams have the skills, tools, and frameworks needed to excel!
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training and mentor strategy aligned with business goals.
- Improve advisor efficiency through best practices in planning, advisory, and Salesforce excellence.
- Craft and manage a sales enablement and mentor framework to drive revenue growth.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in financial planning, investment strategies, and regulatory compliance.
- Leverage adult learning principles to build impactful blended learning programs.
- Align training initiatives with industry trends, business objectives, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to measure and improve program efficiency.
- Report training outcomes and business impact to senior leadership.

Who You Are
- 15 years of Financial Planning and Wealth Management experience.
- 10 years of experience in adult learning, practice management, and sales coaching.
- Certified financial planner (CFP), Series 7, 3, 63, and 65 and other licenses
- Deep knowledge of wealth management regulations and ethical standards.
- Strong expertise in sales processes, client relationship management, and wealth management products/services.
- Strong ability to develop training programs and coach sales teams to improve performance, including product knowledge, sales techniques, and relationship building.
- Familiarity with sales enablement tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, SalesLoft, Seismic, Outreach), learning management systems (LMS), and content management systems.
- Ability to analyze sales performance data to identify areas for improvement and refine sales strategies.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills to deliver clear, impactful training and enablement content.
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$153000 - $207000 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
