Accounting Rotation Development Program Associate (ARDP)

What You'll Do

Principal’s goal for the Accounting Rotation Development Program (“ARDP”) is to build a strong pipeline of dynamic Accounting and Financial employees who have gained broad and challenging experiences across the enterprise.

The ARDP is a two to three-year program for early career associates focused on accelerating the development of accounting and other career skills through rotational experiences, active networking, and delivering valued business results. During the program, associates rotate through multiple business or functional areas for six to nine months at a time.

The Accounting Rotation Development Program Offers:

• Cross-functional rotations ranging six to nine months in length. Each rotation is designed to help you leverage and develop accounting and other career skills, as well as an understanding of the different businesses and accounting areas of Principal, while delivering on key initiatives for the assignment.
• Through rotational experiences, individuals will receive enterprise exposure. Position could include experiences in financial and management reporting, financial analysis, internal controls, investment accounting, taxes etc.

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience required.
• Desire to learn and be challenged.
• Previous Principal Financial Group Accounting/Finance internship or similiar work experience required.
• Strong sense of accountability with strong time management skills.
• Ability to work on a team and be adaptable, resourceful, and self-motivated.
• Ability to work within gray areas and self-starter with ambiguous projects.
• Resilient to change and responsive to feedback.
• Interest in developing informal leadership skills.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$57000 - $77900 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

This role offers the ability for in-office and hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek). You’ll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
