Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Electrician role based in Porter, TX. The Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment for water and wastewater facilities, including motor control centers, control panels, and field instrumentation. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics, running conduit and pulling wire, wiring and terminating panels, and supporting equipment startup and testing. The Electrician will perform routine and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and control issues, and support commissioning activities under the direction of project supervisors or engineers. The role also includes adhering to safety standards, completing documentation, coordinating with team members and contractors, and ensuring work is performed according to codes, specifications, and project schedules.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in electricity and electrical work, including understanding of circuits, power distribution, and control systems.
- Hands-on experience with electrical maintenance & repair and troubleshooting of industrial or commercial systems.
- Familiarity with basic electrical engineering concepts as they relate to installation, system layout, and control panels.
- Experience working in industrial environments such as water, wastewater, utilities, or similar process facilities is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices.
- Comfort working with tools, test instruments, and equipment such as multimeters, megohm meters, and conduit benders.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an electrical apprenticeship, trade school, or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.
- Current journeyman electrician license (or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe) is a plus and may be required depending on project needs.
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work on-site in varying conditions, occasionally outside standard hours as project needs require.
