What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paid Canvasser Position — Montgomery County position at Princeton Strategies?
The primary responsibility of this position is door-to-door voter outreach. You'll spend the majority of your time in the field talking one-on-one with voters, sharing information about Democratic candidates and their priorities, listening to voters' concerns, and accurately recording the results of each conversation.
You will:
- Knock doors and have friendly, respectful conversations with voters.
- Introduce voters to Democratic candidates and their priorities.
- Listen to voters and answer questions using campaign-provided materials and talking points.
- Accurately record voter responses and contact information using a smartphone-based canvassing system.
- Participate in regular team trainings and canvass launches.
- Work independently in assigned neighborhoods while staying connected with the broader field team.
- Help the campaign reach voters who are often missed by traditional outreach.
You'll receive training, scripts, materials, and support from experienced field organizers. What we're looking for most is reliability, a willingness to talk to people, and a commitment to showing up and doing the work.
This is a direct voter contact position, not a volunteer-organizing or management role. Your focus will be getting out into the community, having conversations with voters, and helping the campaign reach its goals.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 per week
