Summary
The Resident Services Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering resident services and compliance measures that promote housing stability, self‑sufficiency, and quality of life for residents of Princeton Housing Authority (PHA) properties and programs. A primary function of this position is to manage and administer annual and interim recertifications of PHA residents. This role works collaboratively with property management staff, residents, community partners, and service providers to connect households with supportive services, ensure program compliance, and enhance resident engagement. The position requires cultural competence, empathy, demonstrated experience in affordable housing environments, familiarity with public housing regulations, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with unwavering discretion and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete annual and interim resident recertifications, requiring document gathering and verification.
- Stay informed of applicable HUD policy, as related to PHA compliance and program regulations.
- Effectively utilize property management cloud-based software (PHA-Web) on a daily basis.
- Coordinate and deliver resident services for Public Housing and/or Housing Choice Voucher (HCV/Section 8) participants to support self‑sufficiency and housing stability
- Conduct resident assessments to identify service needs related to employment, education, health, financial literacy, and other supportive services
- Develop and maintain individualized service plans in collaboration with residents
- Establish and maintain partnerships with community agencies, nonprofits, educational institutions, and social service providers
- Operate in conjunction with the Princeton Housing and Community Development Corporation (PHCDC), PHA’s nonprofit development organization.
- Refer residents to appropriate community resources and track outcomes
- Organize resident programs, workshops, and events that support life skills development and community engagement
- Maintain accurate records, case notes, and reports in compliance with HUD and PHA requirements
- Collaborate with property management and housing staff to identify residents in need of services and support compliance with lease and program requirements
- Assist with grant‑funded initiatives and reporting, as applicable
- Ensure services are delivered in a trauma‑informed, culturally competent, and resident‑centered manner
- Represent the PHA at community meetings, trainings, and resident functions
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred; working towards and/or equivalent experience will be considered.
- 3-5 years of related experience; preferably in a public housing agency, affordable housing property management within the private sector, other local government organization, or nonprofit organization. Strong preference for those with housing authority experience.
- Case management and/or social work experience is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 365, comfort with virtual/remote/hybrid work environment and virtual meetings, and demonstrated experience with property management platforms. PHA-Web experience is a big plus.
- Strong organizational, administrative, time management, and communication skills.
- Financial management experience is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work independently.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually, FTE.
Location: Hybrid.
