- Greet patients warmly, verify their insurance information, and assist with appointment scheduling using our electronic scheduling system.
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing clear and courteous communication for appointment bookings, inquiries, and follow-ups.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring accurate insurance verification and documentation review.
- Handle medical billing processes by coding procedures with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding standards to facilitate accurate claims submission.
- Maintain meticulous medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and health information management standards.
- Support front desk operations by filing documents, managing appointment schedules, and coordinating patient intake procedures efficiently.
- Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Proven experience in medical office management or as a medical receptionist with clinic or dental office experience.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, and medical billing procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic is highly desirable.
- Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Exceptional organizational skills for managing appointments, filing medical records, and reviewing documentation accurately.
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with Pre-certifications, Prior Authorizations, and Referrals.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and compliance in all aspects of patient information handling.
