About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and energetic accounting professional to contribute to Princeton’s growth by providing support across multiple aspects of the Firm's operations and accounting. The candidate will work closely with both the CFO and the Controller on accounting operations, including coordination with the investment team and outside vendors. The ideal candidate will have the necessary business acumen to operate, assess, and improve scalable processes and strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities
1. Perform accounting and operational processes of the management company (“MgmtCo”), including:
- Coordinating all processes within Ramp, the Firm’s platform for bill payments, credit card payments, expense analytics, and vendor management.
- Managing billing and collections cycles across the Funds, Portfolio Companies, operating advisors group (GrowthEdge), and proprietary sourcing platform (FusionPoint).
- Assisting in reviewing quarterly closing workbooks, variance analysis, and financial statements from the Firm’s third-party accounting admin for the primary MgmtCo.
- Leading basic accounting close preparation (QuickBooks) for two MgmtCos.
- Assisting in the creation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Coordinating other internal reporting, reconciliations, and ad-hoc requests.
2. Assist with firm-wide banking processes, including compliance reporting, fraud control, and managing the Firm’s third-party bank information confirmation service.
3. Monitor and prepare internal reporting for cash and line of credit usage of the Funds MgmtCo.
4. Partner with the investment team to drive data and reporting from the Firm’s Fund dashboard.
5. Assist with reporting, requests, and other management of the Funds’ Limited Partners.
6. Help the greater Firm Operations team with ad-hoc operational tax processes.
7. Assist with various compliance processes and testing, including vendor management.
8. Work with the CFO on strategic initiatives, implementations, and special projects, as requested.
9. Drive process improvements and initiatives across the role’s key responsibilities.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. Master’s degree and CPA are a plus.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience, with at least 2 years in financial accounting and operations similar to those listed here.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the CFO and Controller to continuously improve accounting functions.
- Mature and professional candidate who has a strong work ethic.
- Energetic self-starter and team player.
