Supervisor Kenny Boddye seeks a Deputy Chief of Staff with experience in public policy and governance, and who demonstrates exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will also excel at maintaining positive working relationships with government officials, county staff, constituents, and other community stakeholders.
Key office initiatives include promoting land use policies that encourage housing diversity and affordability, preservation of green space, and economic opportunity, and increasing sustainability and climate mitigation measures.
About This Role :
This position works directly with the Supervisor's Chief of Staff, County executives and departments, elected officials, and the general public. The right person for this position must have outstanding analytical skills and be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality in a constantly changing environment.
Key Responsibilities include :
Policy Development & Analysis
- Conduct research and analysis on land use, transportation, sustainability, mental health, education, and other priority policy areas.
- Provide briefings, summaries, and actionable recommendations to guide policy decisions.
- Review budgets, legal documents, and legislative proposals to assess their impact on community goals, to include tracking relevant state legislation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and government agencies to align efforts and maximize outcomes.

Preferred Education and Experience :
Degree in political science, public administration, public policy, legal studies, or related degree
Experience working in public policy or in a government agency
Schedule requirements : M-F, 7.5 hours / day, Flex Hours 8am-6pm (Core 10am-4pm), Hybrid (up to 2 virtual days / week); requires flexibility to attend meetings outside of normal business hours as needed.
Special Requirements : Background Check is required.
Hiring Salary Range : $70,000 - $ 80,000
This position is an exempt political appointment, and the employee serves at the pleasure of the supervisor.
