Located within easy community distance from Northern Virginia and Washington D.C., the Prince William County Community Services Quality Improvement Program is seeking qualified applicants to be the Mental Health/Substance Use Disorder (MH/SUD) expert. This supports the agency’s MH/SUD program conformance to rules and regulations through a variety of quality improvement and quality assurance activities.
About This Role:
The PW CS Quality Improvement program is seeking a full-time Quality Improvement Specialist with a proven track record of working collaboratively with a variety of teams, effective organizational, communication and time management skills, a strong attention to detail and a prior history of providing either direct services or quality improvement services within a developmental disability/behavioral health program. The Quality Improvement program offers the ability to work independently within a supportive team structure. This position will specifically support the MH/SUD programs in meeting and exceeding regulations and rules from agencies such as DBHDS department of licensing and DMAS.
In this role you will perform administrative work planning, organizing, informing, and supporting the activities/functions of direct service staff through presentations, chart auditing, report reviews, public speaking, and follow-up with external audit results. Providing guidance and/or developing logical processes to implement quality improvement actions that ensure that the security and confidentiality of individuals’ medical records follow laws, regulatory, HIPAA and Authority standards, and related work as apparent or assigned. You will need a thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of human psychological and social development, psychotherapeutic treatment techniques/modalities, assessment and evaluation of behavioral health disabilities, authority, regulatory, reimbursement standards.
You will bring experience in developing, writing and implementing organization policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures, and making presentations on these. You will also bring the ability to collect, interpret, analyze and utilize treatment data; ability to work effectively/professionally with internal staff, supervisors, and other providers while serving in the best interest of the service delivery system.
Ability to monitor advanced practices and procedures regarding safety of internal staff and compliance.
Ability to read and interpret regulatory standards to better align with existing or new service provision and documentation requirements within the community behavioral healthcare model.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, social work, or a related field
3 years of experience providing either direct services or quality improvement services within a developmental disability/behavioral health program
Preferences:
Experience in delivering and /or supervising direct MH/SUD services or experience in providing quality improvement and assurance activities for an MH/SUD program.
Work experience in an MH/SUD or the experience of providing QI activities in a behavioral healthcare organization for youth and adult programs in supporting a Human Service Agency or Medical/Behavioral Healthcare Services.
Experience writing policy and procedures, detailed reports, investigation summaries, and action plans.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Special Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must pass DMV record check.
Offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a fingerprint based National Criminal History Record Check.
Child Protective Services Requirements: Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services 12VA35-105-400 rules and Regulations for Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services related to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglected maintained by the Department of Social Services.
Work Schedule:
This full-time (7.5 hrs/day) position, based at the Sudley North Government Center in Manassas, VA, requires a 5-day work week (Monday through Friday) during normal business hours. After an acceptable orientation period, candidates will be incorporated into the team schedule for weekend coverage of serious incident reporting, resulting in 1 weekend assigned every 4 weeks and occasional holiday coverage.
Starting Salary Range: $76,069.50 - $104,676.00
