In this role, you will process all forms of mail and assist with business tax data entry, inputting accurate information and requesting required documentation. About This Role:
The Prince William County Tax Administration Office is seeking a highly motivated professional to join our data processing team. We are looking for a positive, team-oriented individual who can provide professional support to Returns Processing and Data Management team and Tax Administration as a whole. As a key member of our team, you will assist our team by processing and scanning mail, data entry on business tax returns, helping to update, open, and close various tax accounts. This role is an in-office position and is not eligible for telework.
What you will do:
- Sort daily mail and distribute to designated areas
- Scan all work for Returns Processing & Data Management team
- Update, open and close tax accounts
- Process business related tax returns
- Research and resolve tax account discrepancies
- Utilize various software systems, including Tax Administration system, Microsoft Office, and standard office equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D
Preferences:
Two (2) years of data processing
Experience handling confidential information
Experience working in a Public Sector Tax Office
Experience working with an automated tax payment software
Special Requirements:
The selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment background check.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday: There are two shifts: 8:00 to 4:30 and 8:30 to 5:00 that will be decided by your supervisor. During busy periods, you may need to work beyond your scheduled time.
Hiring Salary Range: $24.62-31.38
