Job Description
A Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, safety, and reliability of machinery, equipment, and facilities. They perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and carry out repairs to minimize downtime and support smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Preventive and Routine Maintenance

Perform scheduled inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and part replacements.

Keep records of maintenance activities and service histories.

Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.
2. Troubleshooting and Repairs

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.

Repair or replace defective parts or control systems.

Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
3. Equipment Installation and Upgrades

Assist with installing new machines, tools, or facility systems.

Calibrate and test equipment for proper operation.

Support upgrades to machinery for efficiency and safety improvements.
4. Safety and Compliance

Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards at all times.

Ensure proper use of lockout/tagout procedures.

Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
5. Documentation and Reporting

Log completed maintenance tasks

Report recurring issues and recommend long-term fixes.

Collaborate with supervisors and other departments on maintenance planning.
6. Facility and Utility Support

Maintain HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems as needed.

Oversee building upkeep, such as lighting, doors, and safety systems.

Support emergency maintenance tasks after-hours if required.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.

Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in varying conditions.
Qualifications:
JOB REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
Technical training in electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatic, welding OSHA 10-hour training
Basic AC/DC electrical circuits college course or related experience
Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field (preferred).
2–5 years of experience in equipment or facility maintenance.
Specialized training in PLCs, HVAC, or welding may be an advantage.
Minimum 24 months experience troubleshooting/repairing industrial equipment in an industrial environment
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Must possess the ability to plan out work in an efficient manner.
- Must be able to communicate clearly orally and in writing.
- Must demonstrate technical aptitude to perform equipment adjustments and repairs.
- Must have working knowledge of quality and safety requirements and processes in painting and fabrication manufacturing environment.
- Must be capable of multitasking and keeping production on schedule while performing maintenance duties to equipment.
- Must possess ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics.
