Department Description
Under the direction of the Technology Training Supervisor, the Instructional Technology Specialists will develop activities using technology as an instructional or a productivity tool. The incumbent will be responsible for providing instructional support, which includes conducting technology-training, developing model lessons, managing projects, and coordinating and supporting activities for central office and school-based technology staff. The Instructional Technology Specialist will ensure technology aligns with existing district policies and provides support that improves the efficiency and operation of the workforce. This position will also assist with identifying, acquiring, maintaining, and reporting data for district-approved digital applications.

Detailed Description
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Assists in the development and implementation of district and building-level technology planning including online resources to district initiatives;
- Designs and develops comprehensive training and reference materials, which may include creating videos, online courses, and other modalities for training;
- Coaches technology ?staff in the implementation and use of instructional technology and productivity tools and conducts demo lessons;
- Researches and implements emerging technologies and research-based instructional and training strategies including ways to improve data collection and performance monitoring;
- Collaborates with other departments, divisions, instructional and central office staff to develop materials and activities that integrate technology, and ensure digital applications used for productivity aligns with established policies and procedures to improve systemic operations;?
- Plans, manages, and executes assigned projects from ideation through completion, adhering to established deadlines throughout the completion of the project;
- Follows a plan for professional development and actively seek out opportunities to grow professionally;
- Adheres to and communicates data privacy, accessibility compliance and other laws and guidelines pertaining to the distribution and ethical use of all resources;
- Prepares and submits accurate reports as required;
- Supports the activities of the Division of Academics and Information Technology to ensure complementary services such as instructional technology is used to support???? student achievement;
- Participates in the review of all instructional software purchases for approval and make recommendations to support the instructional and operational programming;????
- Plans collaboratively with content area supervisors and district technology staff to conduct professional learning and regularly scheduled meetings with school-based technology staff, principals, assistant principals, and other stakeholder groups;
- Evaluates and troubleshoots hardware and software problems and communicates critical information in a timely manner; and
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
- Demonstrated competence in developing and leading professional learning sessions for teachers, principals, and administrators, support staff and other central office stakeholders;
- Knowledge of state standards, benchmarks, and alternative modes of assessment;
- Exceptional knowledge and understanding of the teaching and learning process;
- Ability to provide instruction that reflects culturally responsive, equitable, teaching and learning practices;
- Ability to infuse technology into curriculum;
- Experience in leading staff development initiatives;
- Knowledge of technology and strong computer application skills required; and
- Possess effective human relations, collaboration skills, including strong verbal and written ?communications skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPEREINCE REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Instructional Technology or related field required.? A minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience required.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Holds or is eligible for Advanced Professional Certificate with Administrative I required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
