Summary: Assist school bus/van driver in maintaining discipline while bus is in operation; maintain proper records and documentation; assist student loading, unloading and seating
arrangements as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Assists the bus/van driver in maintaining discipline on school bus or van; monitors and assists students while the vehicle is in operation; maintains proper seating arrangements
2. Instructs riders regarding being responsible passengers
3. Reports personal absences in time for the supervisor to secure a substitute monitor
4. Assist the bus/van driver in maintaining cleanliness on the vehicle at all times
5. Assists the driver in providing age appropriate activities to reduce inappropriate behavior while transporting children
6. Exercises good judgment concerning emergencies

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE (preferred)
1. High school diploma or GED
2. This job requires an individual who is familiar with safety procedures, bus/van rules and emergency evaluation policies
