Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Finish Skid Steer Operator to join our team. This role involves operating a skid steer to perform precision grading, site preparation, and surface finishing on a variety of construction projects. The successful candidate will be safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Operate a skid steer with precision to perform fine grading, finishing, and surface preparation.
- Work on civil construction projects, including roadways, subdivisions, parking lots, and infrastructure developments.
- Follow grade stakes, elevations, and project specifications to achieve accurate finished surfaces.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks.
- Report mechanical issues, equipment deficiencies, and safety concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with supervisors, labourers, surveyors, and other equipment operators to meet project schedules and quality standards.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area while adhering to all applicable safety regulations and procedures.
- Assist with general construction duties and support site operations as required.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently in varying weather and site conditions.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating a skid steer in a construction environment, with a focus on fine grading and finishing.
- Experience in asphalt paving, gravel work, concrete preparation, earthworks, or civil construction is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of grades, slopes, elevations, and finishing techniques.
- Ability to read and follow site plans, grade stakes, and project requirements.
