Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure comfort and dignity.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness and promote mental well-being.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with light household tasks to maintain a safe and clean living environment.
- Monitor clients’ health status, report changes or concerns promptly to healthcare professionals or family members.
- Support clients with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs tailored to their dietary requirements.
- Follow care plans meticulously while adapting to individual needs and preferences for personalized care delivery.
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, observations, and any incidents to ensure continuity and compliance.
Requirements
- Prior experience in home health care or personal caregiving preferred; experience with diverse populations including geriatrics is highly valued.
- Strong understanding of basic medical procedures such as medication management, vital signs monitoring, and emergency response protocols.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with patience, compassion, and professionalism.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are preferred for client visits.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is desirable; ongoing training opportunities available for skill enhancement.
- Experience working in settings such as hospital medicine, post-acute care facilities, or outpatient clinics is a plus; familiarity with Level I Trauma Centers or PICU environments is advantageous.
