Principal Consultant GIS Solution Architect (Gas & Electric Utilities) - 66257
Pay Rate: $90 - $97/hr
We have an immediate long-term opportunity for a Principal Consultant to lead the design and implementation of enterprise GIS solutions for Gas and Electric Utilities. The ideal candidate will bring deep domain expertise in North American Utility markets, with a proven background in architecting and delivering GIS solutions using Esri ArcGIS and Schneider Electric ArcFM platforms.
To be successful in this position, one needs to be both a strategic thinker and a hands-on technical expert, capable of guiding clients through digital transformation initiatives while ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing GIS implementations. This techno-functional leadership role involves significant client engagement, solution visioning, and architectural design responsibility.
In this role, you will lead end-to-end GIS solution architecture for utility clients, evaluate existing GIS landscapes, and define migration strategies to the Esri Utility Network. You will conduct architecture workshops, develop implementation roadmaps, provide estimates and resource plans, and ensure technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires deep expertise in Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcFM, and related technologies, as well as strong integration experience across utility systems such as OMS, ADMS, CIS, SCADA, and ERP. You will also support proposal development, pre-sales efforts, and client presentations as needed.
The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of GIS techno-functional experience, including 5 years as a GIS Architect. A strong understanding of Gas and Electric Utility operations-asset management, outage management, network tracing, and field mobility-is essential. Expertise in Esri Utility Network data modeling, rule configuration, and network validation is required. Experience with Azure or AWS deployments, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and Esri or TOGAF certifications will be considered a plus.
This position is based in New York City, New York, and may require travel to client sites.
