Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Substitute Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction and care in the absence of regular teachers, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for young learners. Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans and activities provided by the regular teacher or develop age-appropriate curriculum in collaboration with staff
- Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Manage behavior effectively using established classroom management techniques
- Support children’s individual needs, including those with special education requirements or working with children with autism
- Maintain safety and cleanliness standards within the classroom and school premises
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding daily activities and student progress
- Assist with classroom routines such as snack time, bathroom breaks, and nap times
- Adapt to different classroom settings and age groups as needed
Skills
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and childhood development
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and literacy education
- Skilled in behavior management and classroom management strategies
- Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds, including those with special needs or autism spectrum disorder
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, parents, and students
- Ability to engage children through tutoring, play-based learning, and educational activities in subjects like math and Montessori methods
- Demonstrated experience in childcare or preschool settings with classroom experience preferred
- Compassionate, patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic about fostering a positive learning environment for young children
