We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and families. This role is responsible for the daily cleaning and upkeep of classrooms, restrooms, and main campus areas within our private child care center.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, including counter tops and floors.
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas such as hallways, offices, and entryways
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect floors and surfaces
- Clean and restock restrooms with supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper)
- Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly
- Follow health and safety guidelines, especially those related to childcare environments
- Report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly
- Assist with occasional deep cleaning projects as needed
Qualifications
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Must be dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Comfortable working in a child-focused environment
- Ability to pass background checks as required for childcare settings
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs
- Capable of performing repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift
