Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wound Treatment Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various medical settings, particularly in wound care management. This role is essential for providing high-quality patient care, performing assessments, and implementing treatment plans for patients with complex wound needs. The Wound Treatment Nurse will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for wound treatment.
- Administer medications and perform procedures related to wound care, including dressing changes and infection control measures.
- Monitor and document patient progress, including vital signs, wound healing status, and any adverse reactions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on wound management techniques and preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems for documentation and communication of patient information.
- Stay updated on best practices in wound care, including the latest advancements in treatment modalities.
Experience
Candidates should possess a strong background in nursing with experience in the following areas:
- Level II Trauma Center experience preferred; Level I Trauma Center experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with hospital medicine, emergency medicine, and urgent care settings.
- Experience in geriatrics, outpatient clinics, medical-surgical units, PICU, or OR environments is advantageous.
- Proficiency in patient assessment, IV insertion, venipuncture, medication administration, and basic life support.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infectious disease care is essential.
- Previous experience with post-acute care or sub-acute care settings is beneficial.
