Primoris Services Corporation is searching for a Staff Accountant in the Baton Rouge, LA area. The Staff Accountant will play an integral role in maintaining and supporting the corporate accounting function. For this role, we are looking for a proactive self-starter who enjoys working in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for month-end financial reporting and accounting tasks, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations and financial reports.
- Prepare variance analyses for management’s review.
- Prepare various schedules for the quarterly reviews and annual audit.
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Develop and maintain documentation for business and system processes for assigned responsibilities.
- Assist with SOX audit requirements.
- 1-3 years of professional accounting experience, public or industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills (oral and written), must be able to work and communicate with individuals at all levels across the organization.
- Ability to work as a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Viewpoint software a plus.
- Accounting experience in the construction industry preferred.
- CPA or pursuing designation preferred.
