We offer these services to our clients within the refining, gas processing, chemical/petrochemical, hydrogen, power generation, mining, pulp and paper industries from the first groundbreaking activity all the way through commissioning and start-up of the project. Job Summary:**
The Materials Technician I is responsible for the accurate and efficient handling, tracking, and organization of materials and equipment for Primoris Energy Services projects in Hubbard, Texas. This role ensures the timely availability of materials to support construction activities while maintaining accurate inventory records.
Job Responsibilities:**
- Receive, inspect, store, and issue construction materials, tools, and equipment according to established procedures.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists, noting discrepancies and damages.
- Organize and maintain the laydown yard and warehouse areas, ensuring materials are stored safely, securely, and in an organized manner.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load and unload trucks and move materials.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records.
- Prepare materials for outbound shipments, including proper packaging and labeling.
- Assist in the maintenance of equipment and tools, including basic repairs and cleaning.
- Maintain accurate records of all material movements, issues, and returns.
- Communicate effectively with project management, foremen, and other team members regarding material availability and needs.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a materials handling, warehouse, or construction support role preferred.
- Ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Basic understanding of inventory control principles.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record management.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all company policies.
