Job Summary**
Primoris Renewable Energy is seeking a skilled Civil/Mechanical Equipment Operator for our solar farm construction projects. This role involves operating a variety of heavy machinery for site preparation, trenching, pile driving, and other civil and mechanical tasks, without the need for commercial driving.
Job Responsibilities**
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, forklifts, telehandlers, pile drivers, and other construction machinery safely and efficiently.
- Perform site preparation tasks including clearing, grading, and trenching for underground utilities and foundations.
- Assist with the installation and assembly of mechanical components for solar array structures.
- Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and project specifications.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other team members.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy civil and/or mechanical construction equipment.
- Proficiency in operating multiple types of equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, forklifts, telehandlers, and pile drivers.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans is a plus.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites (non-CDL required).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
