Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Calibration Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all tooling and instruments used in the acceptance of materials, components and products are properly maintained and calibrated. The Calibration Technician will play a vital role in maintaining the quality standards of our products and services.
Duties
- Reads and understands all Quality Management System procedures related to the position / function within the organization.
- Performs scheduled calibration and maintenance of inspection, measurement and test equipment utilizing work instructions and / or SOPs.
- Coordinates calibration, maintenance and repair activities with users and external suppliers, ensuring accurate and timely calibration.
- Keeps track of the status of repair and / or calibration of instruments and equipment sent to external suppliers.
- Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs measuring equipment within individual capabilities.
- Develops calibration procedures for new instruments and equipment as needed.
- Maintains accurate calibration, tracking and status data of all instruments and equipment in the calibration database.
- Fills user requests for measurement and test equipment from company owned inventory
- Cleans and verifies loaned company owned equipment when it is returned.
- Conducts periodic inventory of company and customer owned inspection, measuring and test equipment.
- Stores tools and equipment in designated places and in an orderly manner

- Identifies and quarantines defective measuring equipment as well as manages the storage and disposition of unused / salvage tools and equipment.

Qualifications
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent and three years minimum experience in a Calibration environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of FDA 21CFR820 Quality System Regulations (QSR) and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Technical Skills
- Experience in the proper use and repair of the micrometers, calipers, thread gages and similar manual instruments.
- Intermediate ability to troubleshoot and diagnose precision measuring instruments such as CMM, comparators, vision systems, Instron Force Measurement Systems, Chatillon, Hi-Pot and Pressure Decay test systems
Language Skills
- Ability to read and understand Technical Manuals, Service Reports and Certifications.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees and suppliers.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to work with basic mathematical and statistical concepts
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems using a common sense approach.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Attention to detail.
Computer Skills
- Individual should have a good working
