Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)/Clinical Microbiologist Scientist to join our laboratory team. The role involves performing microbiological and clinical laboratory testing to support accurate diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patient health. The ideal candidate is skilled in microbiology techniques, follows strict quality and safety protocols, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized microbiology testing (culture, identification, and susceptibility testing of microorganisms).
  
  

• Process and analyze patient specimens in compliance with laboratory procedures and regulatory requirements (CLIA, CAP, and state guidelines).
  
  

• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
  
  

• Interpret, record, and report laboratory results accurately in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
  
  

• Participate in quality control, proficiency testing, and quality improvement activities.
  
  

• Follow biosafety and infection control procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  
  

• Collaborate with pathologists, physicians, and other laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate results.
  
  

• Stay current with advances in microbiology and laboratory testing practices.

Qualifications

• Required:
  
  

  • Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license or Clinical Microbiologist Scientist License.
    
    

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Microbiology, Biology, or related field.
    
    

  • Hands-on experience in microbiology testing and general clinical laboratory practices.
    
    

• Preferred:
  
  

  • At least 2 years of experience in a clinical microbiology laboratory.
    
    

  • Familiarity with automated microbiology systems and molecular diagnostic techniques.
    
    

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Laboratory setting with exposure to biohazardous materials.
  
  

• Compliance with PPE requirements.
  
  

• Demonstrate a cooperative attitude towards working harmoniously with colleagues.

Schedule & Location

• 6am - 2:30 pm, Full-time, Wednesday to Sunday,  or;

• 6am - 2:30 pm, Full time, 4 weekdays plus rotating weekends’ or;

• 6am - 3:30 pm, Part time, 3-4 day per week, rotating weekends and vacation, holiday and after hours coverage as necessary.
