We are looking for someone to be apart of our Team!
This position plays a key role in reducing waste, promoting sustainability, and maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the recycling facility or collection site.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Sort, separate, and process recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard, plastics, metals, and glass.
- Remove non-recyclable or contaminated materials from sorting lines.
- Operate recycling equipment such as conveyors, balers, compactors, and forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload recyclable materials onto trucks or into designated storage areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Inspect and monitor materials for quality control and contamination.
- Complete daily logs, reports, or inventory records as required.
- Report equipment malfunctions, hazards, or safety incidents to supervisors.
- Assist with other duties related to recycling or facility operations as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in waste management, recycling, or warehouse operations is an asset.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of recyclable materials and sorting standards.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Work Environment
- May work indoors or outdoors depending on assignment.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, odors, noise, and moving machinery.
- Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, hard hats, and safety glasses.
