The Consumer Lender is responsible for developing, originating, underwriting, and managing consumer loan relationships while providing exceptional customer service. This position serves as a trusted financial advisor by identifying customer needs, recommending appropriate lending solutions, and strengthening customer relationships through cross-selling PrimeSouth Bank products and services. The Consumer Lender is expected to maintain a quality loan portfolio while meeting established production and portfolio management goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lending & Portfolio Management
- Develop new consumer lending relationships through referrals, networking, and community involvement.
- Interview loan applicants and analyze financial information to determine creditworthiness.
- Structure, underwrite, and originate consumer loans in accordance with bank policy and regulatory requirements.
- Present loan recommendations for approval within delegated authority.
- Ensure loan files are complete, accurate, and properly documented.
- Monitor and manage an assigned loan portfolio, including renewals and periodic reviews.
- Identify and proactively address delinquency or credit concerns.
Customer Relationship Management
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience throughout the lending process.
- Build long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Cross-sell deposit accounts, treasury services, mortgage products, and other bank services when appropriate.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and resolve issues professionally.
Business Development
- Generate new loan opportunities through community involvement, business development, and networking.
- Maintain relationships with local businesses, real estate professionals, and community organizations.
- Participate in bank-sponsored events and community activities to promote PrimeSouth Bank.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of consumer lending experience.
- Knowledge of consumer credit underwriting and lending practices.
- Experience with loan documentation and regulatory compliance.
- Community banking experience preferred.
