SUMMARY:
The Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in our team, specializing in the precise compounding of sterile and non-sterile products in both 503A and 503B environments. The position requires a strong focus on regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include safe and accurate compounding, maintaining compliance with USP 795/797 standards and cGMP regulations, supporting quality control measures, and effective communication with team members and prescribing offices. The ideal candidate will be Sterile Certified and have experience in both 503A and 503B compounding environments, with a commitment to delivering high-quality pharmaceuticals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform compounding of sterile and non-sterile products in compliance with USP 795/797 and cGMP regulations.
- Support quality assurance activities, including environmental monitoring, sterility testing, and documentation review.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Pharmacy policies for both 503A and 503B operations.
- Manage sterile product quality testing, ensuring that all products meet the required specifications before release.
- Maintain and manage drug inventory, including wholesaler ordering and daily restocking of medications as needed.
- Process OTC orders, fill prescriptions, and complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation for and participation in regulatory inspections and audits, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and complete.
- Maintain pharmacy records and ensure compliance with filing and documentation requirements specific to 503A and 503B operations.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality in both compounding environments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Sterile Certified Pharmacy Technician
- Current PTCB and TSBP Registration
- Licensed with Texas State Board of Pharmacy and in good standing.
- Two years of sterile compounding experience, with experience in both 503A and 503B facilities preferred.
- Strong understanding of USP 795/797 standards and cGMP regulations applicable to 503A and 503B compounding
- Open and flexible availability
- Prior experience in a busy pharmacy with multitasking ability.
