Key Responsibilities
- Lead and provide daily direction to a team of forklift operators and/or laborers.
- Safely operate a forklift to unload trucks containing medical waste and other materials.
- Coordinate unloading activities to maintain a safe and efficient workflow.
- Ensure materials are moved, staged, and placed in designated areas.
- Monitor team members to ensure proper safety procedures and work practices are followed.
- Conduct basic pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any equipment issues or safety concerns.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding daily operations, staffing needs, delays, or safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and site-specific procedures.
- Assist with other operational duties as needed.
- Previous forklift operating experience required.
- Previous experience leading, supervising, or directing a team required.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift in an industrial environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work around medical waste and follow required safety procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with the position.
