Senior Technical Program Manager, Prime Video Sports Availability

Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios
Arlington, VA Full Time
POSTED ON 12/30/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/30/2026
Description

Love sports? Are you interested in shaping the future of entertainment? Prime Video is re-inventing the live sports experience by merging high-quality live streaming, immersive interactive features, and exclusive access to some of the world's most loved sports properties - including the NFL, English Premier League and UEFA Champions League soccer, Rolland-Garros (French Open), the US Open and more.

Every day we face the challenges of a fast-paced market and expanding technology set. And we're building at a scale only Amazon is capable of. The Prime Video Sports team is a single-threaded-owner, uniquely positioned to execute our vision across the entire PV stack to deliver the most compelling new experiences to our customers. If this sounds like the type of experience you'd like to help build – apply here.

Who We Are

We are deeply connected with the idea that live sports events are fundamentally different: there is only one shot at delivering the moment until it is forever lost. Our mission is to make sure that our customers never miss a single moment of the sports they love. To do this we need to deliver best-in-class live sports infrastructure, testing, monitoring, and operations to optimize the delivery of live sports experiences at scale.

Our team engineers for speed, quality, availability, and scale. As PV has grown, we've increased the depth and breadth of video products we support, with a corresponding increase in the associated size and complexity of our engineering activity and the load on our services. Our goal is to adapt our architecture to maintain and improve our velocity of delivery for customers in the face of these changes, and for our services to be on and error-free 24/7, especially for high-profile, exclusive content.

With AI as a transformative force, we're at an inflection point that enables us to unlock new opportunities in predictive analytics, automated defect analysis and mitigation, and automated operations that were previously beyond our reach.

What We're Looking For

We need a highly talented Senior Technical Program Manager to build fast, scalable, and robust systems for our vision. You'll anticipate bottlenecks, manage escalations, and balance business needs against technical constraints.

You must break down large, complex projects into manageable pieces, develop specifications, and deliver them successfully. We seek someone with a strong curiosity to build and nurture an AI-native engineering team, fostering innovation and integrating emerging AI technologies into our solutions.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage complex, high-impact initiatives spanning multiple teams. Balance competing priorities while maintaining focus on organizational objectives and measurable outcomes.
  • Transform operational and functional requests into prioritized technical specifications by partnering with stakeholders to identify high-impact requirements.
  • Help teams distinguish between tactical fixes and strategic solutions, consolidating related needs into cohesive projects with clear business value.
  • Quantify operational and business impact of proposed solutions by using and creating relevant metrics that demonstrate business value and justify engineering resources.
  • Develop measurement frameworks that track improvements in quality, availability, and operational efficiency.
  • Establish clear timelines with measurable milestones that align with business objectives.
  • Track cross-team commitments, document action items, and provide concise status updates to leadership that highlight progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.

A day in the life

  • Interact with leaders from product and/or other partner tech teams and stakeholders for conceptualizing, scoping and/or planning delivery.
  • Assist with project planning, task break-down, delivery and track status with your team
  • Communicate delivery status to stakeholders
  • Contribute to the vision, goals, and technical strategy in alignment with customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Provide leadership on complex technical issues, design trade-offs, and feature and schedule prioritization.
  • Innovate on behalf of customer

About The Team

  • We are a team who value diversity, respect, and inclusiveness. We love mentoring and helping each other grow.
  • Our technology choices and designs are driven from the engineers, not handed down from above.
  • We have a lot of say for what goes into our product. We get to pitch our ideas up the chain, not the other way around.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 years of technical product or program management experience
  • 3 years of software development experience
  • 5 years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
