AutoCAD Engineer / Drafting Engineer
Prime Time Specialty Vehicles is hiring an AutoCAD Engineer to join our team in Elkhart, Indiana. We manufacture specialty vehicle and van conversions for commercial, government, and transportation customers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The AutoCAD Engineer will be responsible for creating and updating drawings, layouts, floorplans, and production documentation used in the design and manufacturing of specialty vehicles. This position will work closely with production, sales, and management to ensure drawings are accurate, buildable, and meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Create and revise AutoCAD drawings, vehicle layouts, and production prints
- Develop floorplans and design documentation for van and shuttle conversions
- Review specifications and customer requirements for accuracy
- Work with production staff to resolve design or fitment questions
- Maintain organized drawing files and revision records
- Assist with improving design standards and production efficiency
Qualifications:
- Experience with AutoCAD required
- Mechanical, manufacturing, automotive, or vehicle upfitting experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, measurements, and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
