Cashier/Clerk

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Cashier/Clerk to join our team in a dynamic retail environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a well-organized store. This position requires a strong focus on customer satisfaction and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs.
• Process transactions efficiently using the cash register, ensuring accuracy in handling cash and credit card payments.
• Maintain knowledge of store products to assist customers with inquiries and recommendations.
• Perform stock management tasks including restocking shelves, organizing displays, and conducting inventory checks.
• Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products and enhance the customer experience.
• Conduct product demonstrations to showcase new items and encourage sales.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the cashier area and store environment.
• Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance and support.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred.
• Strong phone etiquette skills for effective communication with customers.
• Basic understanding of retail math for accurate transaction processing.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customers.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
• Familiarity with stock management practices is advantageous.
• Willingness to learn about new products and engage in ongoing training.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
