Job Description

The Senior Analytics Engineer builds and optimizes scalable data solutions that support reliable reporting, analytics, and governed self-service insights. The role leads complex initiatives from design through deployment, establishes engineering standards, collaborates with business and technical stakeholders, and mentors junior engineers to improve data quality, accelerate delivery, and drive better business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Partners with business stakeholders to define requirements, identify opportunities to improve data delivery, and determine which business processes and tasks can be automated.
• Analyzes source data and relationships among data assets to deliver actionable, data-driven insights and decision support.
• Designs, develops, tests, and maintains data architectures, extract-load-transform (ELT) processes, logical and physical data models, data marts, metadata repositories, and data warehouse solutions aligned with business requirements.
• Optimizes data retrieval and dataset processing, develops scalable algorithms, and identifies opportunities to improve data reliability, efficiency, quality, and performance.
• Contributes to and maintains the business glossary, metadata, documentation, and other resources that promote shared understanding and cross-functional collaboration around analytical data assets.
• Provides technical leadership for analytics initiatives and projects, ensuring that solutions support effective information management, reuse, scalability, and governance; develops and tests proofs of concept to validate feasibility and demonstrate business value.
• Collaborates with and cross-trains data scientists, systems analysts, report developers, and other technical partners to improve solution quality, knowledge sharing, and delivery continuity.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, engineering or another IT-related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; High school diploma from an accredited school or equivalent GED
• 5 years of experience in IT, to include 3 years data analytics engineering and experience in business intelligence, data warehousing, or analytics
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship
  
  

Additional Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to architect, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-based data solutions.
• Strong understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling, data transformation, code operationalization, and data exploration.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain, review, and translate data models into reliable analytical solutions.
• Proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, ELT development, and cloud database platforms.
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex analytics engineering solutions end to end, including design, development, testing, deployment, and operational support.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing junior analytics engineers through guidance on engineering practices, code quality, testing, and solution design.
• Demonstrated experience establishing and applying data engineering standards, testing practices, code review expectations, and performance optimization techniques.
• Understanding of the pharmacy benefit management and broader healthcare ecosystem.
• Knowledge of and experience with benefit planning and modeling.
• Leverage AI to create and enhance engineering deliverables.
• Reverse engineers existing codebases for migration to modern technologies.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• dbt certification or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience with software development and work management tools such as GitHub and Jira.
• Experience partnering with end users to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions from concept through implementation.
• Programming experience with languages such as Python and supported Frameworks.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and associated technologies such as Google Cloud and BigQuery.
• Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) experience.
• Experience building and maintaining data and analytics products using common business intelligence tools and cloud technologies.

Potential pay for this position ranges from $108,000.00 - $184,000.00 based on experience and skills.
