Sales Development Representative (SDR) – Manufacturing Technology
Charlotte, NC | Remote Customer Site Visits
A Seattle-based AI startup helping manufacturers improve quality and operational efficiency is looking for an ambitious SDR to join its growing team.
This is not a typical SDR role. While prospecting and pipeline generation are important, you'll also gain exposure to customer deployments, manufacturing environments, technical sales, and AI-powered solutions used on production lines. The company is looking for someone early in their career who is curious, eager to learn, and interested in growing beyond traditional SDR responsibilities.
What You'll Do
• Prospect and engage manufacturing companies through outbound outreach
• Schedule meetings and create qualified opportunities for the sales team
• Research target accounts and identify key decision-makers
• Support sales opportunities throughout the buying process
• Visit customer manufacturing facilities as needed to support deployments and implementations
• Learn how manufacturers perform quality inspections and monitor production processes
• Work alongside technical, machine learning, and customer-facing teams
• Gain exposure to demos, pilots, proof-of-concepts, and customer success initiatives
What We're Looking For
• 1-3 years of SDR, BDR, inside sales, customer-facing, or related experience
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
• Interest in manufacturing, technology, AI, industrial automation, or software sales
• Comfortable working independently and interacting with customers onsite
• Curious, resourceful, and highly motivated
• Ability to travel throughout the Charlotte region and occasionally beyond as customer needs require
Compensation
• Base salary: $50,000-$80,000 depending on experience
• Additional performance-based incentive compensation ~10% medical, dental, vision, PTO and Paid Holidays
• Significant growth opportunity into technical sales, solutions consulting, or customer-facing leadership roles
