Senior Project Manager – Cybersecurity Modernization (Contract)

Hourly rate target: $80-100/hr benefits
A public‑sector organization is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a multi‑year cybersecurity modernization effort. This initiative requires a structured, end‑to‑end approach—from assessment and planning through delivery—and strong coordination across technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners.
This is a high‑visibility role ideal for someone who has successfully delivered complex technology programs in government or regulated environments and brings deep familiarity with cybersecurity initiatives.
What You’ll Lead
- Full lifecycle project management for a major cybersecurity program
- Planning, governance alignment, and structured delivery across multiple phases
- Coordination with technical SMEs, business stakeholders, and vendor partners
- Risk, issue, and change management across a multi‑stakeholder environment
- Development of project documentation, schedules, and reporting materials
- Facilitation of decision‑making forums and executive updates
- Oversight of cybersecurity‑related assessments, implementations, and integrations
- Ensuring compliance with public‑sector governance, stage gates, and approval processes
What You Bring
- Strong background managing complex technology projects, ideally in cybersecurity
- Experience working with government agencies or regulated public‑sector environments
- Proven ability to lead multi‑year, multi‑stakeholder initiatives
- Expertise in structured project delivery, governance, and risk management
- Ability to communicate effectively with executives, technical teams, and vendors
- Familiarity with cybersecurity programs, frameworks, or implementations
- Strong organizational, facilitation, and documentation skills
Ideal Experience
- 10 years of project management experience
- Prior work on cybersecurity modernization efforts
- Public‑sector or government project experience
- PMP, PMI‑ACP, or similar certifications are a plus
