Position Overview:

Prime Port Logistics is seeking an experienced Drayage Specialist to coordinate daily container movements between the ports of Los Angeles/Long Beach, rail ramps, and customer facilities. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule and manage daily drayage moves for imports and exports.
• Track container status, holds, and availability using terminal and carrier systems.
• Dispatch drivers and monitor progress to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
• Communicate with customers, dispatchers, and port personnel regarding shipment status.
• Manage demurrage, per diem, and other accessorial charges.
• Update load information in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Assist with billing, rate verification, and documentation for completed shipments.
• Identify and resolve issues such as terminal delays, equipment shortages, or customs holds.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in drayage, intermodal, or port logistics operations.
• Knowledge of Los Angeles/Long Beach port operations and carrier systems (eModal, PierPass, etc.).
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and dispatch/TMS software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Experience:

• Working knowledge of import/export documentation.
• Experience dispatching company drivers or owner-operators.
• Familiarity with per diem/demurrage management and container tracking systems.

Schedule & Compensation:

• Full-time position, Monday–Friday with occasional weekend availability.
