We are looking for a detail driven Quality Lead Inspector who takes ownership of inspections, mentors the inspection team, and ensures every part that leaves our facility meets spec. You will also support packing on the shop floor to ensure shipment ready product.
Position Summary
The Quality Lead Inspector is the frontline authority for product quality. You are the final set of eyes on plating jobs, confirming masking, finish, and thickness against drawings and specifications, and ensuring complete documentation before release. In addition to leading hands on inspections and guiding other inspectors, you will assist with packing and final presentation of parts for shipment, ensuring clean, damage free, correctly identified, and compliant packaging
Duties
- Perform detailed inspection of plated parts prior to packing, verify masking, finish, thickness with XRF and overall conformance to drawings and specs.
- Ensure the required supporting documents are accurate and complete.
- Serve as lead point of reference on inspection requirements.
- Identify and reject parts not to spec and escalate to QA Manager when necessary.
- Assist with packing on the shop floor when needed.
- Support root cause analysis and correct actions from recurring by working with the staff on reworks.
Requirements
- Two to five years of inspection experience in metal plating, aerospace, or similar manufacturing.
- Strong blueprint, traveler, PO, and certification review skills.
- Familiarity with XRF thickness verification, or willingness to learn quickly.
- Experience with or exposure to aerospace packing practices, FOD awareness, corrosion prevention materials, and labeling requirements.
- Computer skills in Visual Shop, Microsoft Office, and shared drive systems.
- Clear communicator who can lead by example and mentor others.
- Ability to work on the shop floor, stand for extended periods, lift and move packaged parts safely, and use basic packing tools.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
