Job Title: Anesthesiologist

Site: Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center (RMR VAMC)

Location: Onsite at Rocky Mountain Regional VAMC

Duration: 1 year contract with the possibility of four 1-year extensions

Shift Schedule

• Based on surgical/procedure scheduling needs (~961 hours/year)
• Weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required based on patient care needs
  
  

How Many Shifts Needed Per Month: TBD (based on surgical scheduling needs)

Certifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology – required
• Current and active medical licensure in any U.S. state or territory – required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – required
• Credentialing and privileging per VHA Directives 1100.20 and 1100.21 – required prior to start
  
  

Education: Medical Degree (MD or DO) with completion of an accredited Anesthesiology Residency program

Experience Needed: Sufficient clinical experience to perform independent general anesthesiology services

Special Skills Needed

• Proficiency in general anesthesia management across a range of surgical and procedural cases
• Strong collaboration skills with surgical and clinical teams
• Knowledge of VA policies, VHA standards, and Joint Commission requirements
• Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently
  
  

Responsibilities

• Provide general anesthesiology physician services for surgical and procedural cases at RMR VAMC
• Independently manage anesthesia care planning, induction, maintenance, and emergence for assigned cases
• Collaborate with surgeons, nursing staff, and the care team to ensure safe and effective perioperative patient management
• Document all anesthesia services accurately in the VA electronic health record system
• Comply with all VHA, Medical Center, and Anesthesiology department regulations, directives, policies, and procedures
• Complete all VA mandatory training requirements
