What you’ll do
- Assist dentists during surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and optimal patient comfort.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments using aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment.
- Manage patient records and medical documentation while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix for efficient patient management.
- Perform chairside assisting tasks, including taking X-rays and utilizing 3D scanners for accurate imaging.
- Monitor vital signs and provide support during pediatric dentistry procedures, fostering a welcoming atmosphere for young patients.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively.
- Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices to enhance your skills continuously.
Basic qualifications
- Experience in dental assisting or related roles in a clinical setting.
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with medical coding, medical records management, and Epic systems.
- Knowledge of prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry practices.
