Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental examinations, including patient assessment and diagnosis, utilizing advanced medical imaging and dental terminology.
- Deliver a broad spectrum of dental treatments such as restorations, extractions, , , orthodontics, and oral surgery tailored to pediatric patients.
- Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment in compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Open Dental for accurate documentation of medical records and treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and post-treatment care in an understandable manner.
- Collaborate with specialists in pediatric dentistry, anesthesiology, and other disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain proficiency in dental fabrication techniques and stay updated on advancements in dental technology and procedures.
- Ensure proper sterilization procedures are followed during dental procedures involving oral surgery or dental implants.
- Manage patient flow efficiently while providing exceptional client communication and ensuring patient comfort throughout treatments.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a busy dental clinic or healthcare setting with a focus on general dentistry and pediatric dentistry.
- Demonstrated expertise in performing dental diagnosis, endodontics (root canal therapy), prosthodontics, orthodontics, and oral surgery procedures.
- Familiarity with electronic health records systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques relevant to dental practice.
- Experience managing medical documentation accurately while adhering to HIPAA standards and state healthcare regulations.
- Ability to perform dental extractions, implant placements, and other advanced procedures confidently.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients about their oral health needs effectively.
