Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site

The IT Support Specialist is a full-time, on-site role responsible for providing responsive, day-to-day technical support to employees and supporting designated technology needs across a multi-location organization.
This is a hands-on, customer-service-focused position. The IT Support Specialist serves as the first point of contact for common technology issues, including hardware and software troubleshooting, user access, account support, computer setup, office technology, POS support, and connectivity concerns.
As the organization grows, the need for reliable technology onboarding, troubleshooting, equipment management, and user support continues to expand. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, helping people, and taking ownership of support needs from the initial question through resolution.
The role also supports employee onboarding and offboarding, maintains company technology equipment, manages user accounts and permissions, supports technology projects across multiple locations, and works with outside vendors when an issue requires additional technical expertise.
Success in this role requires strong communication, resourcefulness, adaptability, and the ability to build positive relationships with employees, cross-functional teams, vendors, and field locations.
- Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day IT questions and support needs.
- Respond to help desk requests and provide timely, friendly support to employees and designated field users.
- Take ownership of support requests from the initial question through resolution, even when outside vendor support is required.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, account, access, printer, connectivity, and equipment issues.
- Perform basic system diagnostics and document issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
- Set up and configure computers, monitors, peripherals, software, and employee workstations.
- Prepare technology and system access for new employees before their start date.
- Manage technology-related employee onboarding, position changes, and offboarding.
- Create, update, and remove user accounts and access permissions across company systems.
- Assist employees with password resets, multi-factor authentication, login issues, and system access.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of company computers, monitors, accessories, and other technology equipment.
- Clean, reset, update, and prepare returned equipment for reuse whenever appropriate.
- Evaluate existing equipment before purchasing replacements and help ensure technology spending remains thoughtful and cost-conscious.
- Coordinate repairs, warranty claims, recycling, resale, or disposal of equipment when needed.
- Support office technology including conference room equipment, printers, smartboards, televisions, phones, security technology, and internet-connected devices.
- Help maintain reliable network and connectivity in coordination with outside IT providers when necessary.
- Support company-approved business applications and software.
- Assist with POS-related user issues, troubleshooting, access needs, and vendor coordination.
- Work with internal teams, field locations, and vendors to identify opportunities to improve the POS experience and resolve recurring issues.
- Maintain organized records of software subscriptions, licenses, system administrators, and renewal dates.
- Open, manage, and follow up on vendor support tickets when issues cannot be resolved internally.
- Assist with technology rollouts, system implementations, software upgrades, and other technology projects.
- Participate in key company technology projects that improve employee and end-user experience.
- Provide designated technology support to remote or multi-location teams.
- Identify recurring technology issues and recommend practical solutions.
- Create simple guides, SOPs, and troubleshooting resources that allow users to resolve common issues more independently.
- Support company cybersecurity practices by helping maintain secure user access and following established security standards.
- Assist employees with password security, multi-factor authentication, phishing awareness, and other technology security best practices.
- Promptly escalate suspected compromised accounts, phishing attempts, unauthorized access, lost devices, or other security concerns.
- Coordinate with qualified IT or cybersecurity providers when specialized expertise is required.
- Help support cybersecurity standards and processes across company-managed technology environments.
- Maintain confidentiality when working with company, employee, and customer information.
- 2 years of experience in IT support, help desk support, technical support, desktop support, or a similar customer-facing technology role.
- Strong technical support and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience assisting end users with hardware, software, account, and access issues.
- Experience configuring, maintaining, and supporting desktop computers and peripherals in a business environment.
- Working knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace and common business applications.
- Foundational knowledge of basic networking, connectivity, account security, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Ability to diagnose problems and independently research solutions.
- Strong customer service skills and a genuine interest in helping people.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to explain technical information clearly to people with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with internal teams, external vendors, and field users.
- Strong time management, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to prioritize multiple support requests based on urgency and business impact.
- Comfortable working with outside vendors and technical support teams.
- Strong attention to detail when managing equipment, user accounts, and access permissions.
- Practical, cost-conscious approach to company technology and equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
- Comfortable working in a fast-growing environment where priorities can change and not every technology problem comes with an instruction manual.
- Positive attitude and willingness to jump in where needed.
- High level of discretion when handling company and employee information.
- Experience supporting a multi-location organization.
- Experience supporting POS systems in a business environment.
- Experience in healthcare, wellness, retail, hospitality, consumer services, or another service-focused industry.
- Experience with Google Workspace administration.
- Experience supporting employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Experience maintaining hardware and technology inventories.
- Relevant IT certification such as CompTIA A , Network , Google IT Support, or similar.
- Additional education in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field preferred, but equivalent practical experience will be considered.
You will be successful in this role when employees and supported locations have a reliable person to turn to when technology is not working.
Issues are addressed quickly, users are not bounced between departments or vendors, new hires have the technology they need on day one, equipment is organized and reused when appropriate, and open support requests are followed through to resolution.
You will also help improve how technology is managed as the organization grows by documenting processes, identifying recurring issues, supporting technology projects, maintaining organized systems and equipment, and helping reduce unnecessary technology spending.
Most importantly, you will help create a technology experience that feels easy, responsive, and supportive for the people using company systems every day.
