Prime Home is seeking an in-home professional to provide consistent, loving, and quality care for special needs individuals’ in their home. The ideal in-home professional will provide responsive caregiving that positively recognizes differences in individual’s abilities, interests, and experiences.
Common job duties include:
- Playing games with the individual.
- Watching movies
- Craft activities
- Taking the individual to meaningful activities in the community
- Parks and Recreation
- Shopping
- Zoo
- Do Space
- Library
- Movies
This position can be a flexible schedule - based on the individual's and family needs. Current hours needed include late afternoon day into the evening and weekends upon request.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe environment for the individual.
Provide activities and experiences for the individual to have access to all members of the community, with idea of community inclusion in mind at all times. This includes transportation to activities, medical appointments, and/or job. Individual's preferences and abilities to be taken into consideration when planning for community outings and staff to remain with individual at all times.
Run Behavioral Support and Habilitation programs in the home, as overseen by DHHS.
Crisis intervention if as needed, ensuring safety, dignity and respect, in accordance with Mandt techniques.
Aid the family in all areas of care for the individual in the home.
Requirements:
1 year experience working with individuals with special needs is preferred.
Strong understanding of the challenges of working with special needs individuals and knowledge of how to adapt activities as needed.
Experience managing behavioral individuals
CPR/1st Aid, Medication Aid and Mandt certification (we provide training)
Minimum age of 19 years old.
