Registered Nurse - RN

Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health / Psych | $55–$60/hr

Employment Type: Long Term Contract (6-9 Months)
Pay Rate: $55 – $60 per hour

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care in a Behavioral Health / Psychiatric setting. The RN will support patients with mental health conditions, ensure a safe therapeutic environment, and collaborate with the care team to promote patient stability and recovery.

Schedule

• 3x12 Schedule (3 days per week, 12-hour shifts)
• Day / Night shifts both are available based on your preferences
• Rotating weekends and holidays may be required

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Administer medications and monitor for effectiveness and side effects
• Provide therapeutic communication and emotional support
• Ensure patient safety and respond to behavioral escalations
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and progress
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and healthcare teams
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery goals
• Supervise LPNs and CNAs as needed

Minimum Requirements

• Active North Carolina RN License
• Minimum 6 months experience in Behavioral Health / Psychiatric nursing REQUIRED
• BLS Certification (AHA preferred)
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in inpatient psychiatric or state hospital settings
• Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques
• Ability to work in a fast-paced behavioral health environment

Work Setting

• Behavioral Health / Psychiatric Hospital
• Adult patient population (varies by unit)
